I’ve never been to therapy. What should I expect?

FAQs

1

Starting therapy is a collaborative process. In your first session, we’ll get to know each other, discuss what brings you in, and outline your goals. You can expect a safe, supportive space where we’ll work at your pace, and over time, we’ll develop strategies to help you thrive. It’s normal to feel a bit nervous, but we’ll take it step by step.

How do I schedule my first session?

2

To schedule your first session just reach out via my contact form, email, or phone. I’ll get back to you promptly to discuss availability and set up a time. Before your first appointment, we’ll handle any initial paperwork and make sure you feel prepared to begin.

A superbill is a detailed receipt I provide upon request. It includes all the necessary information that you can submit to your insurance company. If you have out-of-network benefits, they may reimburse you directly based on your plan.

What is your cancelation policy?

4

I kindly ask for 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Appointments canceled with less notice may be charged the full session fee. This helps me ensure I can offer that time to someone else in need.

What is walk-and-talk therapy?

5

Walk-and-talk therapy is an option where we take our session outdoors, combining movement with therapeutic conversation. It can aid emotional processing, reduce stress, and bring a mindful element. We’ll discuss confidentiality considerations and any extra paperwork beforehand. Overall it’s a dynamic, grounding option to reflect and grow while on the move.

How do I pay for my session?

6

Full payment is due at time of service. We accept payment through most major credit/debit cards and HSA/FSA cards. Credit/debit card information must be provided prior to your first session to secure your appointment time. We require a card on file to cover session fees, late cancellation, and no-show fees. Your information is stored in a secure, confidential online platform.
